Spurs Show Vodcast

CWW brings The Spurs Show to the small screen

Producers Playback Media recently asked Contentment to make a special video edition of The Spurs Show, one of the most successful football podcasts on iTunes. The show is unstructured and anarchic thanks mainly to the presence of the host, comedian Phil Cornwell and we were tasked with committing it to video while preserving it’s low-fi character. On the night, as well as regular sidekick Mike Leigh, Phil was joined by fellow comics Andy Linden and Paul Whitehouse at our very own Soho headquarters. By shooting on compact HD cameras and editing on-site with Final Cut Pro we were able to get the show out within hours, minimising production costs and, we like to think, keeping it every bit as eccentric as it’s always been.

Absolute Radio iAD

Where football and music collide

The video content within Absolute Radio’s new iAD, produced by Contentment for agency Albion, is now live and running on iPhone and iPod Touch apps. It stars rock group Skunk Anansie and features cameo roles from Absolute’s Ian Wright, Russ Williams and Jim Proudfoot. The ad targets tech-savvy football fans and will run until the end of the current season.

Promoting the station’s Rock n Roll Football show, it tells the dream-like story of a man stumbling into a Skunk Anansie sound check where he has to save penalties taken by the band. Initially alarmed, he soon discovers almost super-human goalkeeping skills and saves every single kick. But the band has the last laugh… Click the image to watch the ad.

Bernard Matthews - Marco

Bernard Matthews gets Marco talking Turkey

Marco Pierre White stars in the new TV campaign for Bernard Matthews Farms produced by Contentment’s commercials arm Hotspur & Argyle. The first ad in the campaign, commissioned by agency Isobel, features the great chef lunching with actor and Spandau Ballet veteran Martin Kemp.

The shoot took place at the Michelin starred Yorke Arms restaurant near Harrogate in Yorkshire and reunited Marco with head chef Frances Atkins – the two were kitchen-mates at the nearby Yew Tree in their younger days. The naturalistic style called for a huge amount of footage which was beautifully distilled at editing house Stitch. Two additional ads were filmed with other celebrities, but their identities cannot be revealed until they hit the air...
